What people have said about the SATTS Discs
‘Lots of good aspects to the discs and I like the Average Points Score expected versus the Average Points Scored for the cohort in each strand of subjects.’
KM Sleaford
‘Ofsted liked the way the data evidenced progress so effectively.’
MA Nottingham
‘Shows how well pupils are doing in all strands of subjects.’
TP Lincoln
‘Evidences very quickly pupil progress by subject and by specialism and identifying any staffing issues that may arise as a result and therefore very easy to support staff accordingly.’

Supporting the Assessment of Tracking and Target Setting
At Otherways Education we have developed computer software to support the assessment of tracking and target setting of pupils. The systems use the expected progress across a Key Stage as nationally recognised for mainstream pupils. To support pupils with additional or special educational needs the systems take note of Pupil Progression Guidance.
Each program is based upon the notion of a baseline assessment that is linked to current age and level of attainment. From this starting point expected progress over a Key Stage is indicated.
Each program offers two opportunities over a year (your preference) to assess pupil progress and this automatically rates this progress as- Red, Amber or Green – below, expected or above expected levels of progress.

At the end of a Key Stage this information is automatically transferred into below expected, expected, good or outstanding levels of progress.
What will the program do?
Input of information about a pupil only has to be entered once –this information ‘populates’ all the relevant data sheets for you and will not need further input for the whole of the Key Stage.
Data can be seen in percentage terms for a cohort year on year throughout a Key Stage for all core subjects and strands of those subjects or foundation subjects.
Data for an individual pupil can be seen year on year throughout a Key Stage in all core subjects and strands of those subjects or foundation subjects .
Data gathered can be used to inform Local Authority data requests.
Schools can ‘populate’ all or as many strands of each subject area as they see fit.
The data will give very quick information about pupil progress and identifies areas for celebration as well as areas for further development for pupil, cohort, staff member, subject area or strand of subject.
The data will allow you to identify how well specific groups of pupils are doing with you actually deciding the groups you wish to know more about.
